Cultural impact of Whitney Houston

[edit]

The legacy part was a bit long . So could the editors make a new page Cultural impact of Whitney Houston like Elvis or Beatles? 118.70.185.19 (talk) 09:59, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was just thinking of making one for Whitney! I may try this weekend. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 01:19, 13 March 2025 (UTC) BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 01:19, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New picture for main article

[edit]

I actually loved the Fame magazine photo used for the article and Wikipedia removed it. We have to find an image that is royalty free to share that would be perfect to use. I'm surprised the famous Richard Avedon picture of Whitney's has not been uploaded but it's likely due to copyright issues. So I wonder how many of us are okay with the Welcome Home Heroes picture (shown during her heyday) being used over something else. I'll find another photo to use for the IYBT section of the page in the meantime. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 14:45, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Protection

[edit]

Why is this article not semi-protected anymore? It has been edited extensively in the past few months, resulting in many edit wars, often with users that aren't even logged in. Hubert555 (talk) 00:10, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The protection log is here. Protection requests belong to WP:RFPP. (CC) Tbhotch 01:15, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural icon of 20th and 21st centuries

[edit]

Could those adding this superfluous statement to the lead please explain what they think it is adding? Is anyone likely to think she is impacted culture in any other century? I'd also suggest her "iconic" status in the 21st century is significantly lower than what she achieved in the 20th, and not something that can really be placed in suitable context for another 75 years. But that's by the by. Removing the needless era definition removes any need to worry about how it should be dated. Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:24, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Idk what you're on about but she still iconic today. I don't see no one saying the same for you. Cwall48 (talk) 01:27, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
